Best Restaurants in North Jersey
Our picks for the best restaurants in North Jersey: 15 local businesses, with phone numbers, addresses and websites. Chosen by the NJ Business Directory team; sponsored listings are labeled.
North Jersey has no official boundary, but the name usually covers Bergen, Essex, Hudson, Morris, Passaic, Sussex and Warren counties, and sometimes Union. This guide pulls restaurants from across that stretch: the Hudson River waterfront in Hoboken, Bergen County downtowns in Englewood, Fort Lee, Hackensack and Ridgewood, the Essex County towns of Montclair, West Orange and Fairfield, and Parsippany and Rockaway in Morris County.
Many of these downtowns are easy to reach without a car. Hoboken Terminal connects NJ Transit trains, PATH trains to Manhattan, NY Waterway ferries and the Hudson-Bergen Light Rail. NJ Transit's Montclair-Boonton Line stops in Montclair, and Ridgewood station is on both the Main Line and the Bergen County Line. Farther west, Route 46 and Interstate 80 carry most of the traffic toward Parsippany and Rockaway. Some smaller restaurants are BYOB, so check before you head out.
