Best Restaurants in Montclair, NJ
Montclair packs several walkable dining districts into one township. Downtown, known as Montclair Center, radiates from Six Corners, where Bloomfield Avenue meets South Fullerton Avenue, Glenridge Avenue and Church Street, and in 2015 it won a Great American Main Street Award. Upper Montclair and the Walnut Street area each have their own mix of restaurants and cafés, both built around train stations.
That works because NJ Transit's Montclair-Boonton Line stops at six stations in town, though only Bay Street has weekend trains. Several NJ Transit bus routes also run along Bloomfield Avenue, the township's main street. Montclair State University, the Montclair Art Museum and a lineup of live theaters keep the calendar full, and you'll find art galleries throughout the downtown.
