Best Restaurants in Rockaway, NJ

In Morris County, "Rockaway" can mean two neighbors: Rockaway Borough, a small town along the Rockaway River, and its much larger neighbor, Rockaway Township. In the borough, Main Street is the traditional downtown, with cafés, pizzerias and family restaurants within a few blocks of the river. Its train tracks and Main Street even appear in the 2003 film The Station Agent.

Rockaway Township is home to a super-regional mall that ranks among the largest shopping centers in New Jersey, with food options of its own. Interstate 80 runs through the area, with Exits 35 and 37, and Route 46 crosses the southern end of both towns. Trains don't stop in either Rockaway, but stations in Denville and Dover serve the Morris & Essex Lines and the Montclair-Boonton Line, and Lakeland Bus Lines runs to Manhattan.
