Best Restaurants in Bergen County, NJ

Our picks for the best restaurants in Bergen County, NJ: 15 local businesses, with phone numbers, addresses and websites. Chosen by the NJ Business Directory team; sponsored listings are labeled.

Bergen County is New Jersey's most populous county, with 955,732 residents in the 2020 Census. Its 70 municipalities are the most of any county in the state, and Hackensack is the county seat. This guide draws from four Bergen towns: Fort Lee, at the New Jersey end of the George Washington Bridge; Englewood; Hackensack; and Ridgewood, whose downtown, known locally as "Town," centers on East Ridgewood Avenue.

Route 4, Route 17 and the Garden State Parkway all run through the county's busy retail core in Paramus. Bergen is also the only New Jersey county that still enforces blue laws limiting Sunday shopping, so most malls and many stores close on Sundays. Restaurants are allowed to stay open. If you'd rather leave the car home, NJ Transit's Pascack Valley Line stops in Hackensack, and Ridgewood station serves both the Main Line and the Bergen County Line.
