Best Restaurants in Flemington, NJ

Flemington has been the Hunterdon County seat since 1785, and its compact downtown still revolves around Main Street. The borough covers only about one square mile, but much of it falls within the Flemington Historic District on the National Register of Historic Places. On Main Street, the historic Hunterdon County Courthouse is where Bruno Richard Hauptmann was tried and convicted in 1935 in the Lindbergh kidnapping case, one of the most closely followed trials of its era.

Restaurants, shops and county offices share the same walkable blocks, which makes downtown an easy place to pair lunch with an errand. Just southeast of the historic center, the Flemington Circle joins Routes 202, 31 and 12. Trans-Bridge Lines buses link the borough with Newark Liberty International Airport and Manhattan, and Hunterdon County LINK runs local routes.
