Best Restaurants in Deptford, NJ
Deptford sits on the Philadelphia side of South Jersey, just east of the Walt Whitman Bridge, and it's one of Gloucester County's main shopping and dining hubs. The township is home to the largest mall in South Jersey, and a lot of its restaurants cluster along Almonesson Road and Clements Bridge Road around that retail area. Getting around is mostly by car: Routes 41, 42, 45, 47 and 55 all cross the township, and the New Jersey Turnpike's Exit 3 is next door.
History runs deep here, too. In 1793, Jean-Pierre Blanchard landed North America's first hot air balloon flight in Deptford after lifting off from Philadelphia. For fresh air after a meal, Tall Pines State Preserve, opened in 2015, became Gloucester County's first state park.
